Debt Inheritance Indebted Book 1 edition by Pepper Winters Romance eBooks
The story is about a young woman Nila Weaver who is captured by Jethro Hawk and abused by multiple people associated with the Hawk family as penance for a 600 year old vendetta. There is a contract that was signed by her ancestors promising the first born daughter from each generation of Weavers to the Hawk family to be sacrificed to save the Weaver family. Ummm okaaay. Personally I'd meticulously plan and execute the grizzly deaths of the entire Hawk clan before I'd hand over my kid, or die trying. Oh and Jethro's father abused, degraded and finally murdered her mother years earlier taking her away from her young children, Nila and her twin brother. And yet her weak, pathetic father willingly sends her to this fate to save his own ass. Even knowing Nila's ultimate fate Jethro has no problem with any of this. The icing is that she is "helplessly" attracted to him. She is to be tortured, starved and sexually assaulted until she breaks and then released through death by beheading. I cannot imagine a less sexy scenario than this one.The antihero here has not a single kind thought about the plight of this woman. Sure he wants to be the one who abuses her first, but even that possessiveness is rank. He slaps her for vomiting on his shoes out of fear and disgust at what is expected of her. His elderly father licks her privates and he just stands there pissed at her because she isn't meek enough. He threatens her, never offers a morsel of food the entire book, and stands by watching as a gang of men lick and violate her as she serves them lunch naked.
It's not that I am so against the content of the book. It was the horrible way it was presented. Like any court would uphold a barbaric contract from 600 years ago, which is his threat to keep her in line. Besides the fact that he will "slaughter" her brother and dad if she doesn't comply with her own torture and murder. Supposedly no one will save her, no one will care. The anti-heroine is just an idiot if you ask me.Through all this she gets wet from his continued abuse and wants to sleep with him. What kind of twisted mind would actually be attracted to someone who treated her the way he did. It was just so completely evil there is absolutely NO WAY Jethro could ever be a book boyfriend and that's what I read these books for in the first place, to achieve some sort of vicarious thrill from them. I was absolutely repelled by Jethro (who I refuse to call a hero here) he was vile, disgusting and nonredeemable.
Although I can already see it coming in future installments that Jethro will likely fall in love with Nila and spare her, I do not see how she could ever forgive him or his family. After all, he hates her in this book for the fact that her ancestors did 600 years ago and yet she will likely forgive him after his father murdered her mother because her body "craves" him. Whatever. Can you say weak and pathetic? At the cliffhanger he insists she run through acres and acres of dense forest trying to escape, while naked and starved as he hunts her like an animal. Claiming if she makes it out she gets her freedom. Oh yeah he's real sexy. I would chew glass and chase it with dog saliva before I would suffer through book two. Blech!! There is a place for this book and it's in the horror section. You know, the books about rape, torture and eventual snuff, where you wouldn't expect to identify or derive any sort of sexual or romantic stimulation from reading it. I does NOT belong in the romance or erotica section because there is nothing erotic or romantic about this story. Finally, what's up with all the 5 stars? You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me. If the readers downloaded as a horror story I could imagine it, but are these the same readers of the usual dark romances? I just want you to know before you buy it that it's nothing like most books in this genre, it's sadistic, disgusting and completely lacks and human decency. You've been warned.
*******ETA My review was only to help other readers choose if this is the book for them, everything stated is my opinion pure and simple...I didn't find it sexy, believable or entertaining, maybe you will, no judgement if you do.

Debt Inheritance Indebted Book 1 edition by Pepper Winters Romance eBooks Reviews
I wish I could give zero stars. The entire premises of this book defies logic, it's not romantic (even in the "dark" sense like the description suggests), the main character completely lacks a backbone and her "love" interest is a psychopath
A waste of 4 hours of my time! What a terrible book! The storyline is stupid. I don't care about all the rape and abuse, but the characters were annoying and I couldn't get attached to them. The whole sexting scenario was stupid. The brother of Nila was annoying too. The reading became tedious as there is so much BS in the story. I could skip at least 10 pages to get back to the "lame" story. The heroine was unlikeable and her description of her appearance didn't do anything for the character. Stupid background for her character. This vendetta for 600 years was ridiculous. She's allowed to have a cell phone and not call 999 (emergency number in the UK) to escape and put her family in hiding. Just stupid An aristocrat as a biker? Come on. . . . Thank God this book was free. I just wish I got 4 hours of my life back reading this book.
I have read other dark romance that I enjoyed, for what they're worth. But this was just annoying. He's arrogance was the worst. Her family is straight up retarded. The ending was even more retarded because the fact that there's probably 7 other books to the series leads me to believe she is obviously caught. It was all just one giant eye roll. If my death is so certaint then just kill me already. I kept thinking "oh what ever" I just couldn't care.
p.s. There could of really been the anonymous texter. Some how that author manage to ruin that too.
This book is incredibly slow. All talk of what the characters might want to do to each other but no delivery. There is no graphic sex or rape. Some groping, some fingers, some tongues, but little else. The main character is a lame woman who lets herself be kidnapped, sort of, kind of, against her will, but maybe not and maybe she wants the guy that kidnapped her, or maybe not and maybe he wants her, or maybe not and this goes on for the entire book. The evil kidnappers that are supposed to do evil things to her mostly just talk about the evil things they are going to do without ever doing them. The concept had promise but the delivery was lame. The plot went nowhere. The book died without an ending, no climax, nothing except, buy the next book in the series if you want any hope of an ending to this story, and the next book and the next. A book that promises evil kidnappers doing evil things, should deliver evil kidnappers doing evil things.
